View Full Version : 2006 Guns 'n Hoses Christmas Party
Well, there are only 12 December 2006 17:30:00 until the Guns 'n Hoses Christmas Party!
We're working on a delicious holiday menu and, trust me, we've got some big shoes to fill from prior years, but I'm sure we'll have a feast fit for Kings and Queens!
This year, it's at Turners' Club, 617 N. Salina St. (there's plenty of parking in the rear), 12/12/2006 at 1730 hours. Stu will have his St. Nick bandana on!
We had a spectacular turnout for last year's function and after the word gets around, I'm sure this year will be even better! I wouldn't be surprised to see Chevy Chase and the family to do another episode of "Christmas Vacation!"
For those of you who haven't been to our party before, couples are welcome! Hope you all can make it and, once again, make sure you complete the poll when you know if you're going and as a double insurance (in case I screw up the poll) post a reply to this thread with your intentions.

Are we going to do the "special" refreshment we had discussed in Ocean City? Let me know.. I am going to be there late I have a very Important meeting that night that I must attend, should be there about 830 or 9pm.

Howie, I'm a little worried here! This is taking on an almost religious experience proportion or even a first love infatuation. . . I'm concerned! You won't be suicidal if we can't get all the ingredients, will you?? Relax, man, we're working on it!

Beleive me when I say it is ok if they are not there. All that matters is that we can all get together and have a great time with friends!

First off, apologies to Elaine for the Santa suit being snug comment on the poll! That was meant for the male riders (me in particular)!
Second, we've gotten the menu sorted out and there'll be something for everyone there. We're looking at a stations type setting because that will give eveyone time to "graze" and still shoot the breeze with one another.
Right now, we've got 27 people signed up according to the poll. We're cooking for 30 so if you haven't responded on the poll, bring a brown bag for yourself with enough to sate your appetite! If you plan to be there, fill in the poll so we can adjust the numbers and food ordering accordingly!
As for the finances, we have some adjusting to do to allow for the cash bar, which we didn't have before. We probably will have enough money to throw up on the bar (no, don't throw up on the bar!) for most of the night. I think in recent years, we collected $20 per person and subsidized $10 for Club members, making it either $10 for a stag member or $30 if they brought a guest. I anticipate we'll do that again and even after the food is paid and the cook, as well, we'll have enough money to last the night and still piece the Turners off for use of their facility.
I'm going to try to throw together another photo DVD if time permits so if you have photos to include from this year's activities, email them to me.
We'll also have some music there as well.

I talked to Ed at work and he and his better half will be coming. He's not hooked up to the net so I told him I would post it for him.
Howie, we will have ORANGES. Bill and I would never let you down.

that's ok Hanna...you know I don't take that stuff personally...if I'm going to ride with the men of Guns & Hoses than I best be puttin' on my big girl panties and deal with it !! ;o) Can't wait to see everyone at the Xmas party....who's bringing the mistletoe ?
