Don't forget, tomorrow 1/15/2006 at noon, Spring Ride riders meeting at Turners Club, 619 N. Salina St. Bring your ideas and an appetite. It's Texas Chili time! Wash it down with a Muffaletta sandwich! And its BYOR (bring your own Rolaids!).

Well, there were five (5) of us at the meeting. Thus far, the riders who are going on May 30 are;

Top Gun
Stu
Mike D.
JJ
Gary A.
Red Bull

We agreed that our first day would take us to either Winchester or Harrisonburg, VA, we speculated second day would end around Wytheville, VA, day 3 to Nags Head for 2 days, OC,MD for 3 days and home. Total miles around 1700. Some good riding into WV on day 2 (JJ says he's out on that) and some good VA roads out of Wytheville eventually slabbin it to Nags Head. Up the coast to OCMD and the slab home.

Day 1 Harrisonburg 437
Day 2 Wytheville,VA 302
Day 3 Nags Head 419
Day 4 Nags Head
Day 5 Ocean City 217
Day 6 Ocean City
Day 7 Ocean City
Day 8 Syracuse 388

Total 1764

The chili warmed the cockles of our hearts on a frigid day and the muffaletta sandwich was voted the first day lunch at Memorial Lake State Park, where we lunched last year near Fort Indiantown Gap, PA.

We're going to have to get our lists in order for rooming. Pick your gas buddy, as we have to double up in order to shorten the gas stops. We'd like to make a concerted effort to eliminate the unneccessary stops so when we stop for gas, everyone gases. If we can average 50 MPH for the day, we'll get to our stops on time. Last year, our first day was running an hour and a half faster than scheduled until we hit WV (sorry JJ).

Next meeting is 2/19 at Turmers. I have a BBall game at noon that day so if we could move the meeting to 2PM I'd appreciate it.

Sorry folks, I was out of town at meeting time. Mrs Bull needed a chauffer/bodyguard. I'm in for the trip. Now there is six. P.S besides, there should be a vast majority number of H.D's to represent the cerebral portion of the club. Red Bull

You're absolutely right, RB. . . it takes a lot more HD riders to equal 1 BMw cerebrum!!

Even the folk with "Special needs" should feel good once in a while. Red Bull

On the contrary, you should feel that way ALL the time. . .

That's why I fortunately do not need an occasional diaper change. Mine are disposable. Red Bull

Eric and all,
There is a pretty good search feature on the NAV bar at the top of the page. You can search on a single word or a phrase. When you input the word to search on, though, keep in mind the words you see most commonly are ones to be avoided to narrow the search. When posting, you should keep in mind that someone in the future might be searching for your post and if the word is misspelled or if you use a slang term, the searcher could miss it. Case in point, I was looking for an article on converting some headphones for helmet use, that I had seen on the BMW forum. The writer had taken a poke at Radio Shack, the headphone maker and had instead referred to it as "Rat Shack". I had forgotten this and done a search on Radio Shack and, naturally, the post wasn't there. Headphones alone was a commonly used word that yielded too many results to look through so I searched on Titanium, which was the type of headphone and the article came up and I saw that he had never used Radio Shack, but instead used "Rat Shack." As our forum grows, the search feature becomes more valuable. Try it out and you'll see. Just do a search on the word "chromeness.":D
