Has anyone had any experiance putting an aftermarket seat on a roadking. I recently bought a saddlmen road sofa. In removing the oem seat there are 2 bolts that come up thru the fender that hold the rear of the original two piece seat on. Those bolts also appear to hold a flange on the underside of the fender that holds a wiring harness off the wheel. The problem is that inorder to properly mount the new seat those bolts appear to have to be removed which appears to entail removing the rear wheel and would then leave the wiring harness unsupported. . I also can't see removing a wheel to change seats so may just return the seat unless someone has a better idea...

Brian, JJ Coyne will know. I will e-mail him and inquire. It may be a while; he is probably in Daytona signing autographs. Red Bull

a road sofa sounds a little big for a motorcycle:D

Brian; On some models of FLH's,there are 2 bolts up throught the rear fender. One style is a rounded head bolt with a groove near the bottom that goes around the bolt. The bolt attatches or stays put underneth the fender with a nut thats held in place by a plastic "c" clip.If your hands are small ,your can go up through the side of the fender, after the bags are removed and remove the clip, which will allow the nuts to fall out.You could reattach the wiring clip with a plastic wire tie off to one side or the other,as there are a couple of holes there.Again you have to have small hands. The second style is; two 1/2 inch bolts go through the rear part of the original seat and attach to the nuts that are again held in place by a plastic "c" clip underneth(bottom side) of the fender. They are removed the same way as above. When I changed my seat back to the "air seat" it was not easy getting the bolts out,but after some blood, and messed up back of both hands it was done. Most of their bolts don't stay on by themselves!:D
